IWe really like our coffee, and we hope you do too. Coffee shops can sometimes be intimidating with all the ‘hipster’ options, and then present you with bitter beans and burnt milk! We try really hard to deliver a consistent experience which we think you will enjoy.

If you prefer non-dairy, we have Oat and Coconut as well as Soya ‘milks’ at no extra charge
Characteristic of the West Country, our Cream tea brings together the best. Two Truly Treats (of Kingsteignton) scones- either fruit or plain, Riverford organic clotted cream, and the best local Strawberry jam. Oh yes, and a pot of Birchalls tea
There’s the story that a Cornish Cream tea has jam on first, topped with cream, but a Devonshire Cream tea has cream on first, topped with jam. We don’t mind how you approach this subject, providing you take time to enjoy it! We’re happy to provide an extra plate if you want to share, by the way. For the cheese addicts, we offer Cheese Teas- two cheese scones, three different pieces of cheese from our local selection, and a pot of tea.
By the way, we’ve chosen not to have a set Afternoon tea, as what people want seems to vary a lot with appetite and taste- But we have all the constituents for you to create your own perfection- sandwiches, cakes, scones, or add to a Cream Tea- it’s time to suit yourselves.
We use Birchalls teas as they seem to be very reliable in delivering great taste. Their Great Rift Breakfast tea is our main offering. As the name suggests, it uses tea from plants grown in East Africa, and their expertise in cultivation, hand picking and blending gives a great strong refreshing flavour. Their ‘Prism’ tea bags release the full flavour quickly, but the mesh is biodegradable.
Ask about the alternatives as well - Earl Grey, Peppermint, Chamomile, Green tea
Choose from Sandwiches, toasties, wraps and baguettes made as required- see the menu for options.
We also offer three types of platters for lunch. Choose from
We source Pasties and sausage rolls from Chunk of Ottery St Mary, Devon- their Steak pasties and Vegetable pasties are honest, first-rate substantial fare. (Apparently, the earliest recipe for a Pasty was first recorded 500 years ago in a book in Devon…. Not Cornish at all)
We are open from 8-30am for the essential early morning shot of coffee. Although we don’t do ‘fry-ups’, our bacon sandwiches are very popular. If you prefer, there are toasted teacakes, croissants or our Hallett’s bread makes very fine toast, with jam or marmalade.
